History
(1) Catholic Group. List in 1925-35 book at St Vincent de Paul archives said was 27th Catholic, operated at St Johns Home for Boys and had no record of registration date. Freemans Journal 5/8/1926 said Troops established during Fr Hogan's visit at Christian Brothers School and St Johns Home so registered August 1926.
(2) Formed in 1930 as celebrated 50th birthday in mid-1980. Registered 20/5/1930. Original SM (1930-31) was Reverend CM Stratham. 5 of original scouts Neil Endacott, B Stevenson, Eric Blay, Geoff Waugh and John Noaks attended 50th birthday celebration. Cub Pack registered in 1931 with Miss N Brown as CM and later Miss Elizabeth Wilkie (1933-39) and Miss J Elms as Cubmasters. In 1931 went to Sydney for visit of Baden Powell. Twice closed and reopened. In 1936 called 3rd Goulburn when Benjamin Alford appointed GSM (to 1937). Did not exist in 1944.
(3) 3rd Goulburn (Salvation Army) Pack listed as newly registered in Scouting in NSW July 1956 with Mrs T Bennett CM / Troop registered 28/6/1956 with R Bennett SM. Had 11 Cubs/22 Scouts in 1957. Field Commissioner advised 28/7/1960 Group inactive.
(4) Cub Pack/Troop registered in October/November 1965 as 3rd Goulburn (St Nicholas). St Nicholas Church of England Church. Met in Gill Memorial Hall. Later met in St. Nicholas’ Hall, Goulburn. First GSM/ SM of that Group was Gordon Goodfellow and first CM A Hardy. In 1979 had 22 Cubs/11 Scouts/3 Venturers/6 Leaders, in 1987 had 15 Cubs/16 Scouts/5 Leaders. Group deregistered 12/10/1992.
