History

Troop started 14/1/1944, registered 16/3/1944, had 20 Scouts in 1944 & 45 and met in local hall. South Coast Times 14/1/1944 said District Mindari advised that Troop to be formed at Methodist Mission of Aboriginal Boys evacuated from Northern Territory. A missionary Margaret Somerville brought 95 children by boat, foot, truck and train from island via Adelaide and Melbourne to escape Japanese threat. Group disbanded in 1946 when the Aboriginal children at Mission returned to Croker Island off Northern Territory coast. Deregistered 23/8/1946 and met at Crusader Camp Mission Hostel, off Lady Carrington Road Otford.
