In the 70's they were at the point of closing down due to lack of Youth and Leaders and my Scout Group 1st Rosemont joined together as we had lost our hall. We changed the name to 1st Beaton Park, and it ran for quite a number of years. Later on 4th Wollongong took it over then it became the hall for the Gang Show to train in. It was closed down as it was in danger of one of the walls collapsing and was left to the vandals to trash it. The Scout Association sold it off about a year ago and it was demolished.“ Hall at 39 or 41 Foley St was demolished in 2022 and site sold in early 2023 for $2,860,000. Site was 1852m2 and had been bought in 1950 from Australian iron & Steel.
