History

Formed November 1950 by “Chief” Charles Jackson in subdivision of South Illawarra district.

Badge design was a pelican. This style issued 1980.

Was originally 1st Cringila, 1st Port Kembla, 2nd Port Kembla, 1st Warrawong, 2nd Warrawong, 1st Lake Heights, 1st Windang.

Boundaries changed September 1964 when part became Farmborough District. In May 1969 boundaries changed in resub division of Central Illawarra, South Illawarra and Farmborough Districts into 4 districts. In 1987 merged with Warrigal district to form Lake Illawarra district.
